Journey to Justice

"We invite you to join us on our journey."

Journey to Justice is a hands-on ministry to the working poor in our area.

The Journey to Justice Process is designed to effect a conversion of heart, a growth in compassion and a sensitivity to the needs of our brothers and sisters in want. Journey to Justice sets the groundwork for building solidarity between those who are poor and those who are economically advantaged. It is a solidarity that at the end of the journey creates communities that truly reflect the biblical principles of jubilee justice.

The Journey to Justice Ministry at St. Jude Parish has enjoyed a personal relationship with a nearby community of farm workers since 1991. Aware that low levels of English literacy and inadequate housing are major obstacles in the movement of poor immigrants into the mainstream of American life, our members participate in adult education programs, a homework help program for children, and preparation for first-time home ownership. We help manage St. Jude’s Christmas Gift Giving Trees to encourage parishioners to share Christmas with over one thousand children each year.

We meet on the first Monday of each month for scriptural prayer and reflection, and to plan and evaluate our activities.
