Welcome to Religious Education at St. Jude Catholic Church
As we begin Registration for the 2025-26 Religious Education School year, we thank you for your commitment for creating a home environment where faith is valued and practiced. The role of the Religious Education program is to support you in the promise you made when your child was baptized. We focus on encouraging and equipping you to be what the Church calls you to be: The primary teacher of your child in the life, belief, and practices of our Catholic faith.
Without the active participation of families in regular weekend Mass and other parish activities and events, the ability of the Religious Education program to foster faith development and moral growth in the children is greatly limited. In addition to HEARING the faith proclaimed and taught in the Religious Education classroom, children need to SEE the faith lived out at home, EXPERIENCE regular prayer in the family, and CELEBRATE the faith each weekend at Mass.
Parents are expected to attend Mass with their children every Sunday. Families are encouraged to join us at the 9:00 a.m. Mass for our Children's Liturgy.
Children (Pre-K through 6th grade) can join our catechists for a children's version of the Sunday readings and then rejoin their families for the Liturgy of the Eucharist.

REGISTRATION FOR RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CLASSES, FOR THE 2025 - 2026 SCHOOL YEAR, IS NOW CLOSED
1st Grade through 6th grade
• RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CLASSES - begin, SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 2025
• CLASSES ARE HELD WEEKLY on SUNDAY MORNINGS FROM 10:30am - 11:45am
• Preparation for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion is a 2-year program beginning when a students are in the 1st or 2nd grade.
Our special sacraments class is available for those students who are in the 3rd grade or higher, and desire the sacraments of reconciliation and first holy communion. The special Sacraments is also a 2-year preparation program.
In alignment with the Diocese of Palm Beach's vision, Confirmation discernment will happen within the Small Group Discipleship Ministry. The vision, modeled after the ministry of Jesus Christ, shifts from the classroom model of ministry toward a relational discipleship model of Young Adults. Youth, 7th grade and higher, gather in small groups with mentors to build community, encounter Christ, grow in their faith and become missionary disciples. Through service and mission, they share their gifts and talents with the greater community.
It is our hope that these small groups will grow in faith and discipleship, not just for the length of sacramental preparation, but beyond.
The small groups will also meet on Sunday mornings from 10:30am - 11:45am.
Space is limited so don't delay. Registration will close on September 1, 2025 or once classes are full.
We will kick-off our Small Group Discipleship Ministry on Sunday, September 28, 2025
